About

I am a British musician / singer songwriter based in Morecambe, Lancashire. I am releasing my debut solo single – You Just Might Try – on streaming and download services on January 16th 2026.

“A mesmeric slice of rootsy melancholia,” Bucketfull of Brains.

Recorded on analogue equipment with fantastic studio backing including a spellbinding violin performance, the idea was to create a warm and authentic sound in line with the new wave, punk and 70s rock I grew up with.

The results are raw, uplifting electric folk and backstreet drama. “You look like lightning, you frighten me sometimes, you were born to lose and so was I.”

Mixed by Mick Amistead, formerly of James, this is a song about believing in yourself and dragging yourself towards a brighter future.

Special thanks also to Simon Painter on drums and violin plus engineer Colin Williams.

Alan M. Cole.
